About the broadcast

The UCI Road World Championships are run by the Union Cycliste Internationale, cycling's world governing body, and awarded to a host city rather than to a race organizer. The 2026 edition is in Montréal, Canada, from 20 to 27 September. Thirteen titles are decided over those eight days: road races and individual time trials for elite, under-23 and junior men and women, plus a mixed relay team time trial.

It is not a stage race, and nothing carries over from one day to the next. Each event is its own one-day championship on the same course, so there is no general classification and no daily rhythm to follow. The time trials run early in the week, the road races over the closing days, and the elite men's road race is last. Each winner wears the rainbow jersey in that discipline for the year.

One host feed serves every broadcaster, so the pictures are identical wherever you watch and only the commentary changes. Rights are sold market by market, and the elite road races are picked up far more widely than the junior and under-23 events. That is why the schedule above shows more channels on the closing weekend than at the start of the week.
